These are two genets I was fortunate enough to capture in Namibia. I always liked the image a lot, but what bothered me was the depth of field from the long lens was not sufficient to make both animals sharp. Only the nearest genet was tack sharp, but its mate was slightly out of focus -- just enough to degrade the image. I decided to experiment, so I made a rough selection of the animal farthest from the camera and feathered the edge 20 pixels. I then applied Topaz Sharpen AI just to the selected area. Finally, I made a selection around the eyes of the second animal and sharpened that. I was very impressed by the results of this software which took an image that was less than ideal and made it look exactly as it should look. There is focus fall-off on the chest of the second animal, but that's acceptable. It was the eyes I needed to be sharp. My settings were 1/400, f/6.3, and 800 ISO.
