I'm not a black and white photographer, but once in a while I experiment and produce something I like. This is a 3-image composite with the crescent moon, the Disney Theater in Los Angeles, and a 1951 chopped Mercury. I added the reflection at the bottom of the frame with the plug-in Flood, and then I converted the image to black and white with Image >adjustments > black and white. Then, I applied Filter > stylize > solarize. This is one of the native filter effects that has been with Photoshop from the beginning. Adjusting the highlights and shadows in Levels, I came up with this silver-like image.
