This is Gwalior Fort in central India. It has existed since at least the 10th century, and it is one of the largest in Asia. A photographer's first inclination is to use a wide angle lens to include the entirety of the massive fortress in the frame, but that seemingly pushes the structure further away. That makes it less impressive in the picture. So, I did a 9-frame pano with a 100mm focal length shooting vertically oriented images. I stitched them together in Photoshop, and this created a long panorama image. I then used Image > canvas size to make the picture into a 2 x 3 ratio. This expanded the area of the sky which, in turn, allowed me to replace the sky for a more dynamic background. Finally, I digitally added the model in a beautiful sari to increase the depth perception and to add interest.
