A unique image I set up on one of my American Southwest photo tours was this night shot of Upper Antelope Canyon near Page, Arizona. We were the only ones there, and besides the photography it was a very cool experience. The illumination on the walls of the canyon came from an LED light source that was pointed down at the ground, not at the walls, during the 30 second exposure. In this way, the diffused light spread evenly throughout the interior. In addition, because the bounced light (the LED bounced off the sand on the floor of the canyon) was muted, the exposure on the sandstone walls was the same as for the stars. To determine the correct settings, I took four shots until I liked the results. I used a 14mm lens at f/10 with 3200 ISO.
