I came upon this dilapidated and abandoned home on a backroad in Arizona several years ago, and I've used it as a component in a few composites. In this case, I made the house black and white with the pulldown menu command, Image > adjustments > black and white. I then selected the model with the pen tool, which provides the ultimate in precision when making selections, and then reduced her in size using Edit > transform > scale to fit in front of the door. I purposely photographed her as if she were knocking on the door. I made a subtle shadow beneath her dress with the 'drop shadow' function under the fx icon at the bottom of the layers palette. I photographed the house with film (Fujichrome Velvia 50) in the 90's, and the model was captured with a Canon 5D Mark III.
