This is an albino African hedgehog. These rarely seen animals roll up in a protective ball, with the head inside, when it senses danger. When I was in Ethiopia last time, one early evening my guide got terribly excited because a hedgehog crossed the road right in front of us, and he hadn't seen one for 15 years. I made this photograph at the Nashville Zoo. I have a collection of albino animals, and I heard they had this very unique animal. They were kind enough to let me photograph it close up. I used a 50mm macro for this shot, and my settings were 1/250, f/5.6, and 320 ISO.
