Late April is peak autumn foliage time in Patagonia. The seasons are opposite those of the Northern Hemisphere, and the photo tour I'm leading was timed to take advantage of this. The trees are mostly southern beech, and just like New England and the mid-West in the U.S., the reds, oranges, and yellows are intense and saturated. There is color everywhere, and it's captivating to see. This is a small waterfall in Chalten, Argentina, and the waterfall itself isn't that exciting. But surrounded by color -- especially the deep reds -- make it a beautiful place to see and photograph. My settings for this were 1/4, f/18, 100 ISO. There was as slight breeze, and I had to wait until there was a lull in the wind to shoot so the foliage wasn't blurred. We are headed to the Patagonia region of Chile today and spectacular Torres del Paine National Park.

Maria - What a gorgeous composition! You found the perfect POV and made a not so exiting waterfall into a work of art.
