A unique and very beautiful place for landscape pictures is John Day Fossil Beds National Monument in Oregon. The alien-like landscape has amazing shapes, contours, and striations of color. I've not been there since I went digital, but I'm planning a photography tour of the Oregon Coast right now and I'm looking at places to include in the trip. If you like patterns, graphic design, and earth-toned colors, this little-known national monument will captivate you. My film settings were not recorded, but knowing how I used to shoot, I probably used 1/125, f/8, 50 ISO with Fujichrome Velvia film, and I used a Mamiya RZ 67 on a tripod.
