I took this shot in Antarctica from a rubber dinghy. It was tough because the small boat was constantly in motion, making a thoughtful composition challenging. The glacier and the distant mountains were constantly bobbing up and down in my viewfinder. My biggest concern, though, was that in the turbulent sea, a few drops of salt water might splash on my camera. Salt water kills electronics -- instantly and permanently. Even though I had wrapped plastic around the camera body and part of the lens, that was no guarantee my gear would be completely safe. The dappled sunlight was constantly changing, and the predominantly white landscape made good exposure a challenge was well. I waited for the swell of the waves to rise high on the icebergs to grab this shot with a 24-105mm lens. My settings were 1/1000 (to mitigate the motion of the boat), f/14, and 320 ISO.
