I photographed these 3-month old bobcat kittens in my Babies Wildlife workshop yesterday. They were so much fun to watch. With animals who are constantly in motion, you have to keep your eye glued to the viewfinder. Compositions change in microseconds, and you have to be constantly diligent or else you'll miss great moments. This sweet affection between the two kittens lasted for not more than a half second, and had I been watching them directly with my eyes I never could have captured this. It would have come and gone before I could hold the camera to my face. I anticipated the kittens would be fast and frenetic, and even in the low light of early morning I used a fast shutter speed. That pushed the ISO high, but knowing I could deal with that in post-processing enabled me to get a sharp picture. The camera settings were 1/1250, f/11, and 8000 ISO.
