In the private wildlife preserve my photography tour group is staying, there are two overnight blinds. They are equipped with beds, bathrooms, and a kitchenette, and the small pond that attracts the animals to drink is illuminated artfully with one light on either side of the water.. This enables us to capture very unique night images. In this shot, a cape buffalo came to drink along with about 40 or 50 of his friends, and for a while it was utter chaos. The biggest challenge was the one-way glass we were shooting through became dirty with muddy water from the action of the buffalo as they stood in the water trying to be the first to satiate their thirst. I managed to find a small, clean area to shoot through, but within 20 minutes the glass was just too dirty. We had to wait until the aggressive buffalo simmered down to clean the glass (it angled inward with a latch, allowing us to clean it). I shot this with a 24-105mm lens set to 70mm, and the settings were 1/60, f/5.0, and 16,000 ISO. I used Topaz Denoise to mitigate the noise.
