During my carnival in Venice photo tour, I use this bedroom to photograph models with stunning costumes. It has classic Venetian decor complete with fabric on the walls, and for many years it has produced some of my favorite shots from carnival. This is Jeanne-Renee Georjon modeling for my group. I first made a black and white sketch of the original portrait, and then I applied color using the brush tool at 16% opacity. I then ran the image through Topaz Studio 2 and choose an artistic diffusion filter. Finally, I made a layer mask and painted away some of the diffusion from Jeanne's mask. My settings for the original shot were 1/40, f/4.5, and 1250 ISO, and I captured this with a 24-105mm lens. This bedroom is in the hotel where my group stays, so it's convenient to bring models there.

Rosemary Sheel - Thanks for the recipe! These are my favorite. They remind me of Alphonse Mucha.
