I absolutely love photographing in fog. It's magical, mystical, and captivating. Once in a while in the early morning in Venice, Italy, dense fog moves in and engulfs San Marco Square. The problem is you want to be everywhere at once. In addition to photographing several of the costumed models, I took pictures of background environments to be used later in post-processing. In this instance, I selected and pasted this model into the corridor of the Doge's Palace. There was a line of metal barricades parallel with the row of columns, and that took me a about 45 minutes to eliminate. They were just plain ugly, and they detracted from the classic medieval scene. I used mostly content aware in very small increments to do that. The original costume of the model was black, and I liked it a lot, but I experimented with color and settled on a stunning shade of blue. In Photoshop, going from black to another color is a several step process. My settings for the corridor were .4 seconds, f/4.0, and 1250 ISO. I used a 24mm focal length for both images.
