This honeycombed structure is called the Education Pavilion, and it's located in Lincoln Park in Chicago. It is illuminated beautifully at night, and it is angled to include a portion of the city's skyline. However, it should have been angled a little differently to include the most attractive portion of the skyline as seen from the park. Since it wasn't, I used Photoshop to create what I feel is the ideal scene. I photographed the Chicago skyline from about 100 feet away on the bridge that crosses the South Pond in Lincoln Park, and then I combined that view with the pavilion. I took both shots at twilight, but then I used the sky replacement feature in Photoshop to replace the cobalt blue sky with a sky showing pink clouds. Notice how the pink color extends into the honeycomb matrix of the structure.
