This is a 1936 Auburn 852 Speedster "Boat tail". They sure don't name cars like they used to. I photographed it at a Concourse d'Elegance classic car show in Florida with an unappealing and distracting background. Using the pen tool in Photoshop, I made a meticulous selection of the car, working at 300% magnification, that included the grass. The inclusion of the grass meant I didn't have to rebuild shadows and simulate blades of grass coming up around the tires. I then reversed the selection with Select > inverse and pasted in a shot of beautiful homes in Heidelberg, Germany using the pulldown menu command Edit > paste special > paste into. Note the lighting on the car is soft and diffused just as it is on the background architecture. The houses in the background were taken with a medium telephoto. In composite work, you can usually mix focal lengths, but elements taken in different types of light often don't look realistic when juxtaposed together. My settings for the car were 1/125, f/16, 320 ISO, and I used a 24mm wide angle lens for the shot.
