One of the great landscapes in Tuscany is this farmhouse with a very long driveway lined with cypress trees. Summer is a wonderful time here because there is so much green, but the position of sunrises and sunsets changes with each month, and in June the sun does not rise behind this property. Instead, it rises to the far left. That's not really what I wanted, so I moved the best part of the sky, including the sun, to create the type of lighting I wanted. I blended the sky with the landscape using a layer mask and the gradient tool (I demonstrate how to do this in my semi-annual Photoshop workshop in my home -- the next one is in Nov.). The landscape was green, and not orange, so I used Image > adjustments > color balance to add red and yellow to the bottom part of the composite to match the sky. My settings for the landscape were 1/2000, f/5.6, 640 ISO, and I used a 100-400mm lens. Note when elements in the scene are far away, any lens aperture can be used because depth of field is not an issue.
