One of the most dynamic special effects techniques in photography is combining images. I did this years ago with film where I sandwiched slides, and now with Photoshop the possibilities are so endless that you could spend the rest of your photographic endeavers just doing this and never get tired of it. Photoshop offers many commands that allow you combine pictures in various ways, such as blend modes, cutting and pasting, layer masks, and cloning from one picture to another, and I encourage you to explore them. I'm sure you have hundreds of composites hidden in your photo library just waiting to be discovered.
For the composite you see here, i combined a church in Taos, New Mexico with two other pictures -- a sunset and a shot of clouds.
