I photographed these novice monks in a temple at Inle Lake in Burma. It was very dark, and that forced my ISO to 5000. To make the young boys dominant in the picture, I stood about 5 feet away and used a 16mm focal length. This made them disproportionately large compared to the background. I would have liked to use a small aperture, but the dim illumination prohibited that since I wasn't using a tripod. So, I shot this with f/6.3 and a shutter speed of 1/40th -- the bare minimum I feel comfortable handholding the camera with a wide angle lens. To mitigate the noise, I used Neat Image software.
