You can use images of the Earth and create unique components in your Photoshop work. You can download the pictures from the Internet without charge because they are in the public domain. Just make sure the pictures you choose are fairly high resolution. Once you carefully select the Earth, it can be placed into many different types of backgrounds -- some surreal and some real. In the above composite, I used a the Deadvlei area from Namibia as the land-based foreground and suggested Earth was rising behind the dunes. In the combination of images below, I put together a more surreal interpretation of space using 3D panels texture mapped with clouds. The background is a 'star field' I created by sprinkling glitter on black velvet.
