These fishermen in south Sri Lanka made great silhouettes against the pastel sky. I wanted to use a long shutter speed to soften the water, but I also wanted the men to be sharp. The only way to do that was to take two separate shots. My exposure for the ocean was 4 seconds. I took a second image with a shutter speed of 1/125 to make sure the fishermen were sharp, and then in post-processing I combined the two frames. I used a 24-105mm lens set to 50mm for both pictures, and the lens aperture was f/22 at 100 ISO.
