This is beautiful Glamis Castle in Scotland. I took this picture from the long drive leading to the castle, and the 400mm focal length compressed the elements in the image nicely such that the spring greens blend and harmonize attractively. The sky was dull off-white, so I replaced that with more interesting clouds using a layer mask in Photoshop. I blended the bottom of the clouds picture with the background castle image with the gradient tool. My settings were 1/500, f/8, and 500 ISO. You can never go wrong with overcast conditions. It's harsh sunlight that negatively impacts landscapes so often. If the sky is solid white, it can always be replaced. However, if there is too much contrast, much of the time this ruins the image.
