As a wildlife photographer, it’s frustrating and disappointing that I can never photograph a dinosaur. I’ve taken pictures of Komodo dragons, the largest living lizards in the world, and I’ve captured shots of chameleons which, if they were enlarged about 100 times, would definitely be just like a dinosaur. But it’s just not the real thing. So, I create composites using detailed dinosaur models and landscapes from my photo library to simulate what it might have looked like before the giant reptiles became extinct. This is a dilophosaurus in the tropical environment of Borneo. It lived about 193 million years ago. To increase realism, I cloned the scales from a chameleon onto the the plastic model of the dilophosaurus (in Photoshop, you can clone from one photo to another). So, you are seeing actual reptilian skin. I purposely put the dinosaur behind the large tree branch and the foreground grasses to make this scene more believable.
