How do you find great subjects to shoot? Visual research. Visit online photography blogs, buy calendars and books on photography, join a photography club, look at the websites of well-known photographers, and subscribe to photo magazines. These are excellent sources of inspiration to help you find exciting photogenic subjects. Start a list of subjects that appeal to you and then check them off one by one as you expend the time and energy to photograph them. This is how I started building my photo library, and I still make new lists of subjects I want to shoot as I do my own visual research.
The lovely setting you see above and below is in Holland. I will be leading a photo tour to Holland and Belgium next year, and the highlight of the trip is Keukenhof Gardens, one of the greatest of all subjects to photograph if you love nature and flower photography.
