One of the wonderful subjects to photograph in Iceland are the horses. They are small compared to other breeds, and they have thick coats in the winter and beautiful manes. They are also very friendly. When we would stop on the road to take pictures, inevitably they would come over to us to investigate and to ask for some affection. I used my 100-400mm most of the time because I felt a wide angle distorted the horses too much. Plus, I didn't want to make the horses appear smaller than they really are which is what a wide angle lens would do. For this tight composition, I used 1/1600, f/13, and 1600 ISO.
