Baby elephants are comical. They act just like human babies in that they are constantly trying out life’s new experiences, causing mischief, and entertaining everyone nearby with their antics. This recently born baby was experimenting with his new trunk, flapping his ears wildly, and and challenging us photographers to capture an adorable moment. My settings in this overcast and muted light were 1/125, f/5.6, and 500 ISO. When on safari, cloudy days extend the amount of time you can be shooting wildlife because you don’t have to rush back to the lodge when the light turns harsh. Diffused light is complementary to pretty much any subject.
