I stayed overnight in Atlanta, Georgia last weekend, and I chose one of my favorite hotels -- the Marriott Marquis -- because of the unbelievable architure. This is a view from the 34th floor looking down at the lobby. I used tungsten white balance to accentuate the blues, and my lens here was a 24-105mm set to 24mm. This is an HDR composite of three frames, and in order to steady the camera I had to rest it on a metal railing of sorts. I couldn't use a tripod because shooting at this downward angle meant placing the camera in an awkward position. My settings for one of the frames was 1/50, f/5, and 1600 ISO. Because I was essentially hand holding the camera, to make the shot I held my breath and squeezed the shutter very gently.

Daniel Reynaud - What a view !! Passing along something I read ( and tried ) recently that requires retraining. Instead of holding our breath, making us a bit tense and stiff, breathe softly and shoot while we exhale. Don't know if it is a " placebo " effect, but it seems to work better.
