Indonesian portrait

In Indonesia, on the island of Java, there is an amazing festival in which the costuming, makeup, and face decorating knows no limits. My wife, Dia, who is Indonesian, arranges for each member of my photo tour group to have a VIP pass so we can gain access to the area in which the participants are getting ready for the big event. I took this portrait of a young girl in the shade of building to take advantage of the diffused lighting and minimal contrast. I then applied the Topaz filter 'Simplify' to smooth and blend the colors and the edge detail to look more like a painting. What compelled me to make a portrait of this girl was the way her eyebrows were covered up with feathers.
