One of my favorite shots I've taken in Namibia is this intimate moment between a rescued cheetah cub whose mother had been killed by local farmers and the woman who raised it. Kiki was raised in a home until one day she started stalking the four year old son of the couple who runs this incredible wildlife rescue facility. It was time for Kiki to join the other cheetahs on the 65,000 acre ranch. In photographing silhouettes, no exposure compensation is necessary. The bright background forces the subjects to be underexposed when shooting on any of the automatic exposure modes: Tv, Av, or P. My settings were 1/800, f/7.1, and 200 ISO. I used a 70-200mm lens set to 153mm which tells you how close I was. We were allowed to pet Kiki, and she purred just like a house cat . . . but much louder.
