This is a very sweet moment between my great Pyrenees, Princey, and the deer fawn -- my wife named him 'Norman' --we raised last summer. Norman became part of our family for two months, but when he was big enough, he jumped our fence and rejoined his mother and his sibling. We had feared he had been abandoned at birth, but we learned later that his mother hung around our house at night, apparently waiting for a reunion with her offspring. The family now resides in my subdivision, and we see them almost daily. When my wife calls to them, only Norman responds by raising his ears and looking directly to my wife. I took the original photo against my black plank fence, and this was terribly distracting. Therefore, I used Topaz Remask 5 and a layer mask to eliminate the unattractive background. To be honest, the background was so obtrusive, I didn't think I could make the composite look this good. The fence and wire mesh came all the way down to the grass, and the fine detail in the hair of both animals was a challenge.
