These colorful houses are in Portree, Scotland on the Isle of Skye. They make a very nice picture all by themselves, but there was an orange fishing boat in the harbor anchored all by itself, and I thought it would have been a much better picture had that boat been tied up in front of the houses. So, I made it happen. I waited until the boat pivoted on its anchor and faced the ideal direction, then I took a tight shot of it so I'd have all the detail I'd need. Using several of the selection tools in Photoshop (quick selection tool, lasso tool, pen tool, and the rectangular marque tool), I selected the boat and pasted it in front of the houses, sizing it correctly. Then I pasted the boat in the frame again, flipped it vertically (Edit > transform > vertical), moved it into place to make the reflection. Finally, I darkened the reflection so it would look correct.
