I captured this flock of monk parakeets in Brazil. I was able to photograph many wing formations in multiple frames, but not all of the wing positions looked good. In Photoshop, I selected the best ones and pasted them into a single image. This was the only way to insure each bird's wing spread looked good. The original sky was not only out of focus, but it was bland and uninspiring. I therefore used the sky replacement feature in Photoshop to introduce a more complimentary sky without detracting from the main subjects. I used a 400mm focal length for the shot, and the settings were 1/2500, f/5.6, and 160 ISO. This image was taken a few years ago with the Canon 5D Mark II, and noise was much more of a problem then than now, hence the purposefully low ISO number.
