Snub-nosed monkeys in China are of particular interest to me because of the blue coloration in their faces. Aside from the sky and the ocean, blue is a relatively unique color in nature. It is seen mostly in reptiles, amphibians, birds and insects, so in mammals it's quite rare. Here, two babies are playing with great animation. They are so fast that the real challenge is just keeping them in focus, even for an instant. I had to use a fast shutter speed to insure they were sharp if and when I was able to lock focus on the rambunctious youngsters. These are wild monkeys. They come down from the mountains to the tourist area of the national park to take advantage of the free bananas the rangers put out for them. My settings were 1/500, f/7.1, and 1600 ISO. I used a 100-400mm Canon zoom for the shot.
