This is the dramatic lobby of the Hyatt Regency Hotel in San Francisco in the Embarcadero. The colors in this picture are quite exaggerated, and I know many people don't like HDR for this reason. The images look unnatural and even garish. With many nature images such as landscapes, I agree. However, with some subjects, I feel that going overboard with color can turn out quite compelling. That's how I see this picture. The sculpture, the contemporary design, and the powerful lines of the lobby all lend themselves to a wild treatment
The settings for this picture, which was taken on a tripod, were 15 seconds, f/9, 100 ISO, and I used a 14mm lens.
