This is a roan antelope I captured in Namibia. What struck me immediately was the beautiful combination of earth toned colors. I used a Canon 500mm f/4 telephoto for the shot, and that meant my depth of field was shallow. There was one bush in the immediate foreground that was blurred, and in most circumstances I don't like out of focus foreground elements. It didn't ruin the picture, but I didn't like it. So, I used the sage-green bushes on either side of the antelope to clone over the offending element. Out of focus backgrounds are, in my opinion, much more acceptable than soft foregrounds. So many times, especially in nature, we can't control this kind of thing, but Photoshop has given us the ability to manipulate our images in ways impossible to imagine just a few years ago. My settings were 1/1000, f/8, and 250 ISO.
