The strategy I use for compositing photographs is to use one main subject and a complementary environment. I usually don't have two subjects, and I make sure that the background doesn't detract from the subject. Even though the background may be busy, like in this composite, it's important that the subject be strong enough -- meaning graphic, colorful, compelling, or beautiful -- so our attention is riveted on that subject. Don't add a second subject or you run the risk of confusing the viewer. Sometimes a strong second element can work, but not often. Learn to make composite photographs and your photography will take a quantum leap toward creativity and very exciting imagery.
