Another flight in a small plane I took was in Namibia. The airline company took the door off the plane for unobstructed views of the incredible dunes, and even with two seat belts across my lap, I was still terrified. Nevertheless, the aerial views of the desert below were unparalleled in drama and beauty, so I was very engaged in shooting and that helped me deal with the fear. Large areas of the desert are covered with sparse vegetation, and I didn't like flying over those areas. The plants interrupted the beautiful and graphic contour lines of the sand. I kept telling the pilot "no vegetation", so for the last half of the flight time we flew over the kind of landscape you see here. It was pretty incredible. My settings for this picture were 1/1600, f/4, 200 ISO, and I used a 70-200mm lens set to 70mm.
