I went to Amelia Island, Florida this past weekend to photograph another Concourse d'Elegance. These events are held all over the country, and Amelia Island is one of the best. This is where the most expensive and the most beautiful cars in the world are on display. There were hundreds of cars and thousands of people, and the only way to make the cars look outstanding is to replace the backgrounds, which is what I did with this image of my favorite car at the show. It is a 1938 Phantom Corsair, a unique custom prototype that cost $24,000 at the time (equal to about $400,000 in today's dollars). This was an outrageous sum of money considering America was suffering from the Great Depression. This is a six-seater where four people sat in front and two people sat in the back facing the rear. I shot this with a 24-105mm lens, 1/50th at f/16 and 640 ISO.

Rosemary Sheel - Your info didn't carry over...too bad. I think this is an old Hudson Hornet but glamorized. Is it?

Jim - Hi Rosemary. I just fixed the text. Thanks for letting me know it wasn't readable. You can now see the name of the car -- a 1938 Phantom Corsair, one of a kind.
