This is a keel-billed toucan flying in Costa Rica. I pushed the shutter speed up to 1/4000th of a second to make absolutely sure the tips of the wings were tack sharp. I used an f/9 lens aperture, and because the tree behind the bird was fairly close (about 15 feet), the leaves were too defined for my taste. So, I carefully selected the background and then applied Filter > Blur Gallery > Field blur. This allowed me to add bokeh until the toucan was nicely separated from the background foliage. The Canon 100-400mm lens I used allowed flexibility in tracking and composing the bird as it flew. I took this at 14 frames per second, hand held, and at 3200 ISO.
