This is a traditional home in Wales, U.K., that dates from the 17th century. The thatch roof was perfectly sculpted for visual appeal, and the mature landscaping embellished the scene beautifully. I used a 16-35mm lens, and my settings were 1/100, f/9, and 1250 ISO. In the original composition, I felt there wasn't enough 'breathing room' on the right between the edge of the tree trunk and the edge of the frame, so I used the new generative fill feature in the latest version of Photoshop to expand the canvas on the right just enough. I was happy with the rainy overcast weather so contrast was at a minimum. My next photo tour to England and Wales is in September, 2024.
