One of the most beautiful vistas in Europe is this elevated view of Dubrovnik, Croatia. At any time of the day it's stunning, but at sunset and twilight it's especially captivating. The hillside from which I took this picture is covered by fractured limestone, and it's treacherous to walk on. But I wanted to find an attractive foreground, and I took every step with deliberation and care. I used a 24 - 105mm lens set to the 24mm mark for this picture and placed the camera only three feet from the flowers. I used f/18 and 320 ISO, and the longest exposure of the 3-frame HDR series was 15 seconds. I especially like this picture because it shows a combination of the colorful sunset sky, the lights in the city, and detail in the immediate foreground.
