This is a two toed sloth I photographed in Costa Rica. These unique animals spend most of their lives hanging upside down in trees; even pregnant females give birth to their young hanging upside down. They can’t walk, so they are confined to an arboreal life. Sloths move very slowly, so it was easy to photograph this one except for the fact a lot of sky was visible through the leaves. This created distracting hotspots that diverted attention away from the animal, so I spent time cloning out of focus foliage from another picture to this one to cover up the hotspots. You can do that in Photoshop when both photos are open on the desktop. I took this with a 70-200mm, and my settings were 1/100, f/5.0, and 400 ISO.
