One of the ways of dealing with unwanted or problematic foregrounds is to use the Photoshop plug-in Flood. It is made by flamingpear.com, and Flood makes the most realistic watery reflections. But more than that, it can also cover up foregrounds that are not attractive. For example, this 1948 Pontiac Convertible was parked on concrete pavement. That didn't make an ideal foreground (usually I shoot classic cars on grass), so I used Flood to create an interesting reflection and, at the same time, it solved the issue of the concrete. The background I used is from the Cinque Terra coast in Italy. Usually I don't combine a subject taken in bright sunlight with a background photographed in diffused light, but for some reason this combination seemed to work, at least to my own sense of aesthetics.
