It’s never too dark to take a picture . . . if you have a tripod. Even on the floor of the jungle where the light level is extremely low, if you have a tripod you can have your cake and eat it, too, so to speak. By that I mean you can have a sharp picture, complete depth of field with the use of a small lens aperture, and a perfect exposure without using the artificial light from a flash.
