This is a white horse of the Camargue in southern France rearing at sunrise. I captured it during a photography tour which affords participants to photograph a herd of white horses running through marshes, splashing at the beach, and we even see two stallions sparing. For the exposure of this silhouette, I didn't change the exposure compensation feature. I let the bright sun force the image into underexposure, thus producing the silhouetted forms of the horse and rider. To ensure an artistic spread of the mane, a fast frame rate is essential to show every nuance of the movement. I took this a couple years ago when I was still shooting the Canon 1Dx Mark II which has 14 frames per second. I used a 100mm focal length here, and that's why the sun seems a bit enlarged. When I do this again on the next tour (May 2023), I want to move further back and use a longer lens. That will cause the sun to be even larger in the frame. My settings were 1/800, f/11, and 200 ISO.
