This is one of the types of shots I look for when photographing snowy owls -- white on white. And I love when the owls look over their shoulder at me as they fly by with their wings stretched out beautifully. Of course, this happens so fast that it's impossible to see and compose. The best I can do is keep it in the center of the frame, use AI servo (auto focus tracking), and shoot at the maximum frame rate to try and catch the perfect wing position. I shot this at 1/2500 of a second at f/10 with auto ISO and, on the 7D Mark II, 10 frames per second. Because I like shooting birds in flight, the frame rate has become very important to me when choosing to purchase a new camera.

Jim - Hi Linda,
I just fixed the color of the text. Thank you for pointing that out -- I hadn't checked. Actually, this taught me something about my blogs. I pasted that text into the correct field, but the black text against the black background was obviously unreadable. I thought the text would automatically become light gray, but it doesn't. Usually I type directly into the correct field, but this time I wrote the text in another program and pasted it here.. Thanks again.

Linda Purdom - Thank you Jim, it reads perfectly now. I too have written text in one program and then pasted it in another. It can work, but sometimes something goes amiss.
While I'm here, just a note to say I've learned a lot from your blogs. As an amateur photographer I look for information from as many places as possible and your notes have been a great help. Thanks!

Linda Purdom - Beautiful photograph, but any description or comments on the photo isn't below the shot, nothing there but a big black space. The last picture you sent with your blog had a description with very light lettering but I was able to read it by right clicking and dragging over the paragraph. I really miss your clear and instructive descriptions of your photos. I hope you can help me reestablish the comment section. Thank you
