'm leaving tomorrow for Kenya and another photo tour. No matter how many times I go to Africa, it's always a thrilling adventure. You never know what kind of drama will unfold in front of your camera. One of the intriguing animals I love photographing are wild dogs, and to get this kind of full-frame portrait of one isn't common. These canines rarely hold a pose for more than a second or two, so you have to be very fast with autofocus and with the shutter. Usually I drive around the game parks with a 500mm lens mounted on my camera, but in this case the pack of dogs was so close to my vehicle that I was able to use a 70-200mm. What I especially like about this shot is the way the sunset light illuminated the eyes. My settings were 1/400, f/4.5, and 200 ISO.
