I made this image of a dragonfly's wing in the 90s, and I wrote an article for a photo magazine titled Zero Generation Photography because I didn't use a camera. I put the wing in my enlarger and printed on black and white paper. So, this is actually a negative image. You can get the same effect now, except no one uses enlargers any more. You would have to take a picture with a digital camera in color, of course, and then convert the image to black and white (one way to do that is using this pulldown menu command in Photoshop: Image >adjustments > black and white. Then use this command to go from positive to negative: Image > adjustments > invert. If the image isn't contrasty enough for your taste, use: Image > adjustments > levels.
