This is an orange-backed troupial I captured in the Pantanal region of Brazil. Because of the bird's brilliant color, I spent a lot of time on the grounds of the my lodge trying to photograph it in flight. I did get one shot, but unfortunately it's not tack sharp because the bird flew out of the focus zone and the camera wasn't fast enough to track it. Small birds are unbelievably fast. So, this is the best I was able to do. I took this with a 500mm f/4 Canon telephoto, and my settings were 1/6400 (because I was going for the flight shot), f/5.0, and 4000 ISO. I used Neat Image software to eliminate the noise. The orange color was so bright that when the troupial flew across the river and perched in a tree, it was still visible from a quarter mile away.
