This is a 1935 Dussenberg I photographed in a car show. As in most Concourse d'Elegance shows, the cars are on grass. They photograph beautifully this way, but the backgrounds are busy with other cars, people, and other elements that detract from the classic cars. In post-processing, then, I used the pen tool to meticulously cut out the car so I could replace the background with a natural and complimentary image that I photographed in South Carolina. I shot the car with a 24mm focal length, and the settings were 1/25, f/16, and 250 ISO. The soft and diffused light was ideal. Had a midday sun been shining on the black car, I wouldn't even have taken the picture.
