I photographed this arctic fox at sunrise during my last polar bear trip in Churchill, Manitoba, Canada. The way the light was hitting the fox was exceptionally beautiful. Arctic foxes are small animals, and usually they are photographed looking down on them from an adult height. Much better is a low perspective because it's a more intimate look and, at the same time, a ground-level perspective seems to give foxes greater stature. In this shot, the perspective looks like I was laying on the ground; instead, however, the fox was on a slope and was situated a few feet above eye-level. I used a 420mm focal length, and the settings were 1/1250, f/10, and 1000 ISO.
